As a small-molecule tablet, orforglipron is fundamentally cheaper to produce at scale than peptide injections, which need complex manufacturing and cold-chain logistics. That's the basis for expectations of more accessible pricing — but a basis, not a promise: list prices are set by commercial strategy, not cost alone.
By the time orforglipron reaches the UK, it will compete with established weekly injections and other oral options. The more crowded the market, the more pricing pressure — recent history with weight loss injections shows prices do move once genuine alternatives exist.
Like the injections, orforglipron was trialled at several doses, and private pricing in this category is usually tiered by dose. Headline "from" prices typically reflect the lowest starting dose — worth remembering whenever launch pricing finally appears.
